Newton Henderson Jr.

Newton Alexander Henderson Jr., passed away on January 28, 2013 in Sherwood, Arkansas. He was born on June 29, 1935 in Barstow, California; and was the son of the late Newton Alexander Henderson Sr. and Manchel Henderson. Newton was raised in Barstow, where his father was the City Constable, but from ages fifteen until eighteen he spent most of his time in San Bernardino. In 1957, Newton joined the United States Army where he taught how to repair and fly helicopters and served until 1959, The also served in the Marine Corps Reserves. He was a past member and president of the Sunnymead Lions Club. Newton loved fishing, cooking, reading, and his time living in Arkansas after his retirement, he will be remembered for being very social. Survivors include his daughters Andrea Wilson and husband Joel Wilson of San Francisco, Calif.; Alexis Sandner and husband Ricky Sandner of Cabot, Arki.; Bea Cowan and husband Andrew Cowan of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandsons, two granddaughters, three great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons and a brother, Roger Henderson of San Bernardino, Calif. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at That Church at 901 E Kiehl Ave., Sherwood, Ark. 72120. Cremation Services by Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
