Charles Garrett Taylor

On Nov. 10, 1939, the late Jimmie George and Mary Helton Taylor became parents. They named their son Charles Garrett Taylor. Charles died on Wednesday, July 3, 2013. He was 73 years old. Charles served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He served in Korea, and retired from International Paper Company in 2004. When he was young, Charles accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was a faithful member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church. On March 5, 1977, he married the former Ellon Jane Attebery. He was the father of one son, Dr. Charles Garrett Taylor II. Garrett and his wife, Caron, were very dear to him. He is also survived by two brothers, Dr. Don Taylor (Joann) and Jimmy Glen Taylor; and a sister, Barbara Thomas (Mike). Services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at Salem Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Howard Loetscher officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Memorial Gardens by Fuller Hale-South Funeral services. The family will receive friends Friday, from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
