Madge Clanton Lasiter
Madge Clanton Lasiter, age 84, of Fordyce, Ark., died Wednesday, July 3, at St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock, Ark.
Born Aug. 25, 1928 in Ingalls, Ark., a daughter of the late Thomas Oscar Clanton and Effie Sledd Clanton, she was a retired elementary school teacher with 30-plus years of service and a member of First Baptist Church in Fordyce.
Also preceding her in death were brothers, Ray Clanton, George Clanton, Ralph Clanton, Ronald Clanton and a sister, Mildred McClendon.
Survivors are her husband, Charles "Bear" Lasiter, whom she married Jan. 5, 1947; two sons, Peyton Charles Lasiter and spouse Tracy, Little Rock, Ark., and Mark Clanton Lasiter and spouse Terri, of Australia; one daughter, Karen Lasiter Pennington of Belgium; one sister, Lois Hilmer, Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services 10 a.m. Monday, July 8, at First Baptist Church in Fordyce. Burial 2 p.m. Monday July 8, at Union Hill Cemetery in Ingalls, Ark. by Frazer's Funeral Home. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at Frazer's and 9 a.m. until service time Monday July 8, at First Baptist Church.
