Mr. Ken O. McClanahan, 79, of Hot Springs, formerly of Wynne, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen H. McClanahan and Ivey Slocum McClanahan and sister, Geraldine Mashburn. Mr. McClanahan was born in Tilton, Arkansas on April 18, 1934. Ken retired from Cross County Bank after 45 years of service. He was the CEO and Bank President of Cross County Bank. Ken retired as a full Colonel after 35 years of service from the Army National Guard. He was a lifelong active member of First United Methodist Church in Wynne. He served on, various boards, served in many activities and was a 47 year member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Jean Vanaman McClanahan of the home; son, Mac McClanahan and wife Paulette of Hot Springs; daughter, Jamar McClanahan of Houston, Texas; brothers, J. F. McClanahan of Hickory Ridge; Ivan McClanahan of Fonatana, California; sisters, Marlene Little and Kody Koonce of Cabot; grandchildren, Megan Norris, Caleb McClanahan, Grace McClanahan and Noah McClanahan. Visitation will be Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m. at Kernodle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with burial in Lewis Cemetery in Hickory Ridge with Military Honors. www.kernodlefh.com.
