Helen Louise Dees

Helen Louise Dees, 90, of McGehee, Ark. died Thursday July 4, 2013. Mrs. Dees was born May 5, 1923 in Dermott, Ark. a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Malnar Kvaternik. She was a long time resident of McGehee, Ark. where she and her family owned and operated the Ritz Restaurant for over 50 years. Mrs. Dees was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and she loved to play the piano. Survivors include her son, David Dees Jr. of North Little Rock, Ark.; daughter, Pat Day (Raymond) of McGehee, Ark.; grandchildren, Marcy Smith (Bryan), Sarah Jane Thiele (Mitchell) and Mike Sherland (Jackie); great-grandchildren, Garrett Smith, Madalyn Smith, Mark Mitchell Thiele, Andrew Sherland and Liam Sherland; aunt, Helen Lang of McGehee, Ark.; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday July 8, 2013 at McGehee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 401 N.
