Janie Brake Butts passed on to her Heavenly Father at 5:50 a.m. on July 4, 2013. She was 78 years old when she passed in the care of Hospice of Wichita Falls. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Shields officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Janie was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas and a member of the Faith Singers Senior Choir. She really enjoyed all of her friends at the church and choir. Janie was born on Aug. 10, 1934 in Amherst, Texas to Pete and Floy (Grimes) Brake, the second of three girls. Janie was preceded in death by her father, Pete Brake; her mother, Floy Brake; two sisters, Betty Norris, Carolyn Hapke; two sons, Danny Sanders and Shane Sanders; and daughter, Jan Bailey. She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Chester Butts; a son, Billy Sanders and Karen of Rapid City, Mich.; two daughters, Karen Alderson of Birmingham, Ala., and Misty Fox and husband, Eric of Mendham, N.J. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, two sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews. Janie loved all of her children and grandchildren very much and missed them all of the time. Janie was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron in 1988, Grand Representative to Florida in 1999-2000 and attended Florida's Grand Chapter in 1999. She also served as Deputy Grand Lecturer of District 16 in 2002. Janie was a 34 year Breast Cancer survivor and a nine year cancer survivor.
