Robert B. "Bob" Bronfman, DPM, 60, of McLean, Va. died suddenly on Thursday, June 27 in West Orange, N.J. He was there attending his father's funeral. Bob was born April 1, 1953 in Newark, N.J. to the late Norma Lee and Jerry Bronfman. He was the grandson of the late Ida and Benjamin Bronfman of Newark, N.J. and the late Fannie and Harry Levenson of St. Paul, Minn. He is survived by his loving wife, Eileen (Lee) Bronfman of McLean; and brothers, Stuart B. Bronfman (Barbara) of Burlington, Vt., his twin brother, Dr. Richard A. Bronfman (Sheila) of Little Rock, Ark.; sister-in-law, Pat DaSilva (Manny) of New Bern, N.C.; brother-in-law, William Tmay (Linda) of Calabash, N.C.; uncle, Milton Levenson of Menlo Park, Calif.; numerous Bronfman and Levenson cousins; the "We 10" and many lifelong friends. Dr. Bronfman graduated from Mountain High School in West Orange, N.J., received his BA from the University of Connecticut, his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Illinois Collage of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency in Youngstown, Ohio. He began his practice in Arkansas where his brother Richard also practiced and in 1983 moved to Virginia where he has practiced ever since. He was a member of the Virginia and American Podiatric Medical Associations, the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and a Fellow with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Bob played sax, clarinet and lettered in wrestling in high school and college. He had a dry but witty sense of humor, loved to cook, play golf and enjoyed vodka tonic with lime. He was an excellent physician who was loved by his patients, and he was always there for friends who needed a little off the cuff medical advice. Most of all he was a loving husband, brother and a great friend. He left much too early and will be sorely missed. A gathering in remembrance of Bob will be held at Westwood Country Club, Founders Room, 800 Maple Ave. in Vienna, Va. on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
