Letha Claire Cornish Whited

Letha Claire Cornish Whited, 79, of Monette died Friday, July 12, 2013, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Letha was born to Lula and John Cornish on August 28, 1933 in Monette, Arkansas. She was a nurse and mom and extremely proud grandmother. Letha was a lifetime member of Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church and retired from St. Bernard's Hospital. She is survived by her children, Danny Whited and wife, Deborah of Jonesboro, Joanne Whited Branscum and husband Troy of Jonesboro, Elizabeth Whited Thompson and husband Rusty of Monette, daughter-in-law, Debra Wallace Whited of Monette; five grandchildren: Josh Whited, Meagan Whited, Allison Whited, Micah Thompson, Julie Thompson: three sisters, Lela Riley, Lula Toots Lang, Ollie Emerick: one brother: Clarence Cornish and numerous other relatives survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Whited: a son; Roy M. Whited: grandsons; Zach Whited and Seth Whited: a brother; Ernest Cornish; three sisters: Myrna Rapert, Love Lang and Jewel Blasingame. Visitation will be held Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church, Hwy. 139, Monette, Arkansas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Ernest Cornish officiating. Burial will follow at Monette Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas. Josh Whited, Allie Whited, Julie Thompson, Meagan Whited, Micah Thompson, nieces and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Condolences may be e-mailed to ewt.0027@gmail.com.
