Robert Earl "Mitch" Mitchell, age 90, of Morrilton, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2013 at Conway Regional Hospital. He was pre-deceased by wife, Mosadean Thompson Mitchell and siblings, Lloyd Mitchell and Christine Wright. Mitch was a life-long resident of Morrilton, having graduated from Morrilton High School. He was justly proud of his service in the United States Navy having served in the South Pacific for three years during World War II. Following his military service he graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science beginning his career as a funeral director and embalmer. He spent most of his professional life with Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton and served as Conway County Coroner for many years. He was an active member of the Morrilton Kiwanis Club, the local VFW, as well as the Morrilton First United Methodist Church. Mitch is survived by one daughter: Robbie Glazer, of Carbondale, Ill.; one son: John Hale and his wife Sue, of Hot Springs; his brother: Raymond Mitchell, of Morrilton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his nieces; nephews; and many friends. Mitch possessed a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories and jokes that endeared him to all. At Mitch's request, his services will be held at Harris Funeral Home, 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, with Rev. Todd-Paul Taulbee officiating. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to charity of your choosing. The family would like to thank Rob Harris of Harris Funeral Home, the staff and resident friends at Emeritus at Trillium Park where Mitch resided for the past several years, the staff of Conway Heart Clinic and Conway Regional Cardiac Rehabilitation and other medical personnel who have worked so well for so long with Mitch.
