Mary Ann Kennedy Wornock, 61, a resident of Little Rock, passed away on July 16, 2013. She was a devoted wife to Larry Wornock for 19 years. She is survived by brothers John Kennedy (Betty), West Fork, Ark.; Albert Kennedy (Vickie), Metairie, La.; sisters-in-law, Donna Kennedy, Mabelvale, Ark. and Gail Blaylock Kennedy Fayetteville, Ark.; and a host of nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was born on February 8, 1952, to the late Robert and Mary Ann Guidos Kennedy. She was preceded in death by brothers Clyde Thomas Kennedy and Robert Kennedy Jr. Mary Ann attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Elementary School and Mount St. Mary's Academy. After working in California for 14 years, she returned to Little Rock. She recently completed 20 years of service with the State of Arkansas Insurance department, where she served as the assistant to the Deputy Commissioner. Returning to her childhood parish, Mary Ann was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel and served as lector. Possessing many artistic talents, she impressed family and friends with her exquisite beadwork, and she handcrafted countless gifts for each of her nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. In her final days, whenever she felt well enough, she labored to complete a crocheted baby blanket for her latest grandniece. She loved to travel, was an avid reader, and was known for continuing the Czech baking traditions of her grandparents. The aromas from her oven brought warm memories from the past to many family gatherings. The family expresses its gratitude to parishioners of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, members of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, employees of the Arkansas Insurance Department, the staff of Arkansas Hospice, and all of their family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday with Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1321 S. Van Buren. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church or Arkansas Hospice. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, a Smith Family Funeral Home.
