Jimmie F. Merritt, age 79, of Bentonville, Arkansas, passed away at 11:37 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born May 25, 1934, in Greenville, South Carolina, the son Frank Pearson and Bertha Olivia (Bridges) Merritt. Jimmie was a 1952 graduate of Marionville High School. He was a self-employed bus driver and a truck driver for many years and retired from Holiday Coach. Jimmie was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas. On May 31, 1963, he married Ellen Mae Huff in Miller, Missouri. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 plus years, Ellen of Bentonville, Arkansas; three daughters, Ellen "Marie" (Dewayne) Black of Bentonville, Connie Sue (Cody) Morris of Cottage Grove, Oregon; Katherine Olivia (Jeff) Lovvorn of Bentonville; one son, George Ray (Lorrie) Merritt of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; three sisters, Mary Louise Jones of Pierce City, Judith Ann Morris of Anderson, Janet Marie Brooks of St. Helena, Oregon; one brother, Johnnie Lockhart of Lowell, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. His parents, Frank Pearson Merritt and Bertha Olivia (Bridges) Merritt-Lockhart, infant son, Jimmie Jr., and three brothers, Frank, Louie, and Jack Merritt preceded him in death. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013, at the Fosssett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri with burial at Union Cemetery in Stotts City.
