Hellmuth Bobo Unverricht

Hellmuth "Bobo" Unverricht, age 85, of Augusta passed away Friday, July 19, 2013. He was born Sept. 2, 1927 in Cotton Plant to the late Martin Carl and Maragrethe Unverricht. He was retired from Motor Inn, a family business. He served in the Army and Arkansas National Guard, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. In 2002, he was inducted into the OCS Hall of Fame at Camp Robinson. He served on the Augusta City Council and was a member of The American Legion Post 166 for 58 years. At the age of 18, he joined the Augusta Fire Department where he served as secretary and fire chief. He continued to be an active member of the fire department up until Nov. of 2012. He was an avid fan and supporter of the Augusta Red Devil football teams. He was known as Augusta's no. 1 fan. Bobo loved to sit on his front porch and watch the birds at the bird feeders he put out. His favorite vacation spot was Branson. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years, Jean Unverricht; his two sons, Lynn Meachum (Angie) of Judsonia, Fred Unverricht of Augusta; and one daughter, Sabrina Conditt (Lee) of Batesville; his grandchildren, Kalyn, Kori and Meg Meachum and Ty and Anna Beth Conditt; and great-grandchildren, Kamdyn and Charli Meachum. Visitation will be held Monday, July 22 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Rhodes and Son Funeral Home in Augusta. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23 at Rhodes and Son Chapel. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
