Ernest Grayson, Jr.

Ernest Grayson, Jr., 84, of Bald Knob took his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ by the hand on Monday, July 22, 2013. He took his final breath at home with his family by his side. He was born July 4, 1929 to the late Ernest and Sarah Edna Emde Grayson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, John. Ernest was a Korean War Veteran, a retired educator and administrator from the Bald Knob Public Schools, and a farmer. He retired as a Lt. Colonel from the Arm Reserves. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Bald Knob. Ernest was a man who always put others first in his life. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh and giving spirit. Ernest is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay Allen Grayson; his son, Barth and wife, Amy of Bald Knob; his daughter, Beth Grayson Stout of Rogers; grandchildren, Jamie Grayson of New York, Jennifer Buske of Rogers, Olivia Stout of Rogers, Elizabeth Stout of Prior Lake, Minnesota, James Grayson and Sarah Grayson of Bald Knob; great-grandchildren, Everlynn, Vivian, and Grayson Buske of Rogers. He is also survived by sisters, LaDelle (Bill) Keck of North Carolina, Lila (Greg) Raper of Traskwood, Mary Lou Peters of Conway, and Esther (Frank) Brannon of Conway. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Services will be Thursday, 10 a.m., at the Funeral Home with Lavon Piker officiating. After the service, Ernest will be laid to rest at his family homeplace, birthplace, by Prince Cemetery in Bald Knob. Pallbearers are Wayne Goacher, Denny Price, Roger Hoofman, Tommy Wood, Brad Emde, Danny Fife, and James Grayson. Honorary Pallbearers are Gillen Emde, Louis Sandford, Reagan Wynn, Randy Wallace, John Asa Grayson, Christopher John Grayson and Jerry Case.
