Alcorn Jenkins "Jenks" Henslee

Alcorn Jenkins "Jenks" Henslee, age 82, died July 1, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. He was born December 5, 1930 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of the late Lee and Mary Alcorn Henslee. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Henslee, Jr. Jenks is survived by his two sisters, Porter Henslee Crow (Mrs. Harry Crow, Jr.) of Dallas, Texas and Sissy Henslee Lyon and her husband, Owen Lyon Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas and a sister-in-law, Jody Henslee of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, nieces Mary Lyon of Columbia, Missouri, Leanne Bradbury, Mauri Eilobott (Don), Lila Dickey (Ted) all of Little Rock, nephews, King Crow (Anne) Russell Crow (Leigh), Porter Lyon all of Dallas, Hobson Crow (Robin) of San Antonio, Texas, Owen Lyon III of Gainesville, Texas, Claude Cousins (Beth) of Little Rock and George Cousins of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Jenks graduated from Pine Bluff High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and was a member of SAE Fraternity. While at the university, he was drafted into the Navy during the Korean War. Later he earned a degree from New York University in New York City. After graduating from college, Jenks moved to San Jose California, where he was a buyer for Hart's Department Store. He lived and worked there for many years, and then moved to Tacoma Washington where he established an antique business. From there he moved his very successful business to Seattle Washington, and lived there some 30 years before retiring to Dallas, Texas to be near family. It was Jenks' wishes that he be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
