James "Jimmy D" Marshall DeVore

James "Jimmy D" Marshall DeVore, went to be with his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ on July 24, 2013 surrounded by his beloved family. Jimmy's dear wife, Peggy preceded him on their eternal journey back in November 2012. He persevered bravely always determined to be "fantastic"! He worked hard at both farming and photography, but his calling was to encourage everyone he met. Jimmy was born December 22, 1933 on "the lower end of Little Prairie" to William Jackson DeVore Sr. and Lillie Maylene Thomas DeVore. He was also preceded in death by his brother William Jackson DeVore Jr. and a sister Nancy DeVore who died at birth. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his children and grandchildren as well as many friends. Jimmy made friends every where he went even when the encounter was brief. His children include Debbie Devore Linville and her husband Ken Linville; Beth DeVore DeLancey and her late husband Larry DeLancey; Kevin DeVore and his wife Robin Davis DeVore. Jimmy's grandchildren include Blake Staton, Brandon Staton and his wife Abby Trites Staton, and Reba DeVore. The family wishes to thank all those who encouraged Jimmy especially after his beloved wife Peggy went to be with the Lord. There were many friends who were faithful and loving and we pray the kindness will be multiplied back to you. Visitation will be at Essex Funeral Home in DeWitt, Friday, July 26th from 5-7 p.m. The funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27th at Unity Baptist Church in DeWitt, Ark. with burial in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens by Essex Funeral Home.
