Juanita Abney, age 81, of Little Rock, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. She was born on September 23, 1931 in Ft. Necessity, La., to the late Joe and Idell Jones. Although divorced for the past several years, she was married to Billy B. Abney, Sr. for 38 years. She was a military wife for 30 years and lived in South Carolina, Maryland, Alaska, Louisiana, Thailand, Colorado and Arkansas. She never met a stranger and loved to meet new people and see new places. She loved birds and flowers and had a large porcelain collection of both. She was a master at crossword puzzles, canasta and Thai poker. A fabulous cook, more than a few folks can credit some extra pounds to her cooking. She was generous, witty, loved a good joke and was a proud, life-long Democrat. She loved discussing politics with her sister, Mary Jo. Family and friends will miss her dearly. Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Jacob and Huey Jones; one sister, Rose Jones Logan and a son, Billy B. Abney, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Mary Jo Webb of Downsville, La.; son, Jerry Busby and wife Mirian; daughter, Debra Finney and husband Chuck; two granddaughters, Jennifer Moser (TC Webb) and Emily Busby; one great-grandson, Jeremiah Webb. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at the Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Currey officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
