Roy Howard Parrott, age 55, of Warren, Ark., passed away July 25, 2013 at Bradley County Medical Center. Born, August 10, 1957, in Warren, Ark., son of W.D. (Don) Parrott and Rowena Poteet Parrott James. He was preceded in death by brother, W.D. (Dee) Parrott, June 15, 2000, paternal grandparents, Roy Noel Parrott and Velma Estelle Wheeler Parrott, maternal grandparents, John Alexander Poteet and Hattie Eugenia Easterling Poteet, and his beloved horse Ralph. He graduated from Monitcello High School in 1976. He was a high school rodeo champion for saddle bronc, went to National Finals in Gallup, New Mexico, and received a rodeo scholarship. He was a farrier, trained in Houston, Texas. He also belonged to the Iron Workers Union 321, Little Rock, Ark., where he was a foreman essentially for nuclear plants across the United States. He was a former cattleman in Rye, Ark. He loved to hunt, fish and trap critters. He was an avid reader and had a voracious thirst for knowledge. Above all, he was a devoted horseman and cowboy. He was a Christian, Methodist by faith and enjoyed visiting First United Methodist Church, Warren, Ark. when he visiting family. Survived by his daughter, Callie Rose Parrott, Pasadena, Texas, born February 23, 1994 in Bradley County Hospital, two sisters, Mary Eugenia (Jeannie) Sullivan (John), Barbara Ann Parrott McBee Ogles, of Warren, Ark., three nieces, Mary Suanne Sullivan of Conway, Ark., Barbara Kristin McBee Weeks (Mark) and children, Hannah Alise and Jameson Sterling Weeks of Warren, Ark., Shelley Rene Parrott Leggio (Greg) and son, Kirby Wayne Leggio of Houston, Texas. Memorials preferred to First Methodist Church, Warren, Ark. roof fund or YMCA of Warren, Ark. A memorial service will be Sunday, July 28, 2013, 2 p.m. at Frazer's Chapel.
