Oletta Brown Guthrie, 92, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013. She was born August 11, 1920 in McHue, Arkansas the daughter of the late B.L. Brown, Sr. and Clara Ward Brown. Ms. Oletta was a member of the Bradford United Methodist Church, Order of the Easter Star and a past Worthy Matron. She enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, traveling and crocheting. She was married in 1940 to Fred Dalton "Brown" Guthrie; they were married for 58 years before he passed away in 1998. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Shelton (Ronnie) of Cabot and Kaye Winningham (Tom) of Bradford; two sons, Rodney Guthrie (Kay) of Cabot and Mike Guthrie (Claudia) of Collierville, TN; a brother, B.L. Brown, Jr.; a special sister-in-law, Imogene Ray; 8 grandchildren, Bliss Akridge, Jennifer Winningham, Tyler Winningham, Sara Beth Kennedy, Wesley Moran, Christopher Guthrie, Clint Guthrie, and Amber Hays and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred "Brown" Guthrie; brothers, Waymon and Lynn Brown; sisters, Rilla Powell and Victoria Lanier. Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Bradford. Interment will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Floral.
