JOHN PATRICK "MIKE" RECTOR, 73, of Little Rock, passed away June 25, 2013. Mike was born on Nov. 27, 1939, in Little Rock, to Henry and Mary Elizabeth Rector. He loved spending time with his family and his dog, Oliver. Mike enjoyed golfing, fishing, horse racing and going to the casinos. Mike served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960 in Churchill, Canada and White Sands, N.M. During his tenure in the service, he had a great interest in Meteorology and that continued throughout his life. He received a degree in Marketing from Little Rock University. His 42 year career as an Insurance adjuster included retirement from both Travelers and Wausau Insurance Companies.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert D. Rector of Galveston, Texas; and one sister, Jane Rector of Little Rock. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet Rector; two daughters, Amy Wiley and Stephanie Rector; one granddaughter, Jordan Wiley and brother, Henry Rector (Kay) all of Little Rock; sister, Rosemary Rector of North Carolina; sister-in-law Vida Rector of Galveston, Texas, and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to thank Doctors John Jones, Lynn Davis, and Paul Zelnick and the compassionate and caring nurses of the SICU at St. Vincent Infirmary for the loving care they gave Mike throughout his illness.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society.
