Morene Wilson Scherz, age 95, of North Little Rock, joined family and friends in her heavenly home on March 5, 2013. Born July 26, 1917 to Jessie Wilson and Hattie Mae Barron Wilson. Morene lived most of her 95 years in North Little Rock. In 1979, she retired following 39 years of dedicated service to her job with the Internal Revenue Service. Undoubtedly, her greatest joys in life were her three sons, all whom survive her: Marvin L. Scherz of Rogers, Ark., Harold E. Scherz of North Little Rock and Scott W. Scherz of Little Rock, along with their families: Marvin's son Donald "Skip" Scherz and his wife, Barbara, of Bella Vista, Ark., and daughter, Marsha Phillips and her husband, John, of Rogers; Harold's daughter Deborah Scherz of North Little Rock, daughter, Michele Baylor and her husband, Don, of Austin, Texas, and son Blake Scherz of Lillian, Ala.; Scott's wife, Connie and their son, Andrew Scherz, of Little Rock. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and one brother, James T. Shaw (Margie) of Fort Smith, Ark., along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Morene was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock where she remained active for many years. Former pastor and special friend, Luke FLesher, will conduct Morene's graveside memorial service to be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Bayou Meto Cemetery. Morene's family gratefully acknowledges the staff of Robinson Nursing Home in North Little Rock for their kind service and attentive care; also to Dr. Paffert and the staff of St. Vincent North, and to Hospice Home Care of Little Rock.
