RANI HODGSON VAUGHN, age 42, passed away on March 2, 2013, at her sister's home in Little Rock under the loving care of her sister, Jennifer Carmody and devoted friends, Nancy Carter-Raggio and Felicia Boccia. Born Sept. 20, 1970, she was a 1988 graduate of Hall High school before relocating to San Diego, Calif. In addition, Rani studied at Oregon State University and graduated from Art Institute of America at San Diego. Rani was self-employed as a creative consultant, receiving numerous awards throughout her professional career, including two Addy Awards. She was an avid supporter of animal rights causes, serving as Managing Editor of "The Rabbit Reader" newsletter for the San Diego House Rabbit Society. Rani is survived by her sister, Jennifer and brother-in-law Justin Carmody of Little Rock; her beloved nieces Rachel, Erica and Leah; her "furry" children Jackson, Alistair, Angus and Chloe; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. A memorial gathering is being planned in Little Rock for a future date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Society of Arkansas, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), or the San Diego House Rabbit Society. Rani's witty humor, charm, talents and personality will be greatly missed by all who were blessed with the opportunity to know her.
