Richard Thorton Sims

RICHARD THORTON SIMS, 60, of Little Rock died March 8, 2013. Born June 10, 1952 in Little Rock, he was the son of Joel Frank Sims and Margaret Ann Neighbors Sims. He served in the active National Guard during the Vietnam era. He was a registered nurse and long term care consultant. Preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joel Ann Estell, he is survived by his loving wife, Marie Remmel Sims; his son, Stephen Christopher Sims (Nicole) of Knoxville, Tenn.; his brother, Michael Dale Sims (Linda) of North Little Rock, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Monday, March 11 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th St., Little Rock (501) 661-9111. Graveside services will be at 12, noon Tuesday at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Hospice Chaplain Kim Hammer officiating.
