LEMARLE "MARTY" DORTHEA DONETH SCHULLER, age 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 8, 2013. Marty is predeceased by her husband of 67 years Murrell "Mike" Schuller, her parents, Joseph and Teresa Doneth, and nine of her siblings. She is survived by two sisters, Kathryn and Betty; children, Michelle Ray (Steve Cox) of Penrose, Colo.; Ann-Marie Schuller of Mabelvale, Ark.; Michael Schuller (Patty) of Bryant, Ark. and Tracey Campbell (Terry) of Little Rock; grandchildren David Ray, Katherine Ray King, Keely Ray, Jennifer Brock, Monica Brock Collins, Christina Brock, Beth Schuller, Paul Schuller, and Lauren Schuller; seven beloved great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. While no longer married to her daughter, she continued to love Charles Ray as part of her family. She had a wide circle of friends, including long term special friends Peggy Shaver, Darlene Woodall, Carroll Gaither, Lee Pritchard, and Jess and Betty Woods. Marty was born in Copemish, Mich. on March 14, 1925. She was one of 11 children. She married Mike Schuller on Oct. 6, 1945 and began a life of adventure. As a navy wife for 25 years she traveled the world with Mike. After he retired they settled in Little Rock with their four children. After moving to Little Rock, Marty worked at Timex as a Quality Control Inspector. She then was Directing Business Rep for District 156 from 1978 to 1982 when she suffered her first heart attack at the age of 52. Forced retirement did not suit Marty, so she went back to work first for American Income Life and then the United Way. She retired again, got bored, and went to work for the Little Rock Police Department Detective Division. Anyone who called the Detective Division heard her distinct Michigan accent when she answered the phone, "Detective Division, this is Marty." She kept the police department entertained with her jokes, wacky sense of humor and Bette Midler walk. She loved being in the thick of things and reluctantly retired at age of 83 due to her health. Marty was described as a cross between Carol Channing and Lucille Ball. She had a unique ability to make people laugh at her jokes and one liners. Her life was full of love and friendship, she cared deeply for her friends and family and was loved by many. She will be greatly missed. Marty was active in the Central Arkansas Labor Council and The Sertoma Club. She was a member of St. Edward's Parish for many years, and a member of St. Theresa's Parish more recently. There will be a Rosary (today) at 5:30 p.m., followed by Visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 6219 Baseline Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Theresa's with Father Mark Wood as celebrant. Memorials in honor of Marty's life may be made to St. Theresa's Catholic Church or The Humane Society of Pulaski County. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Greenbriar and Good Shepherd Nursing home for their care during Marty's last days. To sign the online guestbook, go to www.griffinleggetthealeyroth.com.
