Leona Gertrude Jordan

Leona Gertrude Jordan, age 98, only eight hours until she would have been 99, of Crossett, AR passed away on March 9, 2013 at Sonegate Villa Health & Rehabilitation. She was born on March 10, 1914 in Crossett, AR to her parents, Lonnie and Rosella Rickman Johnson. Mrs. Jordan was a homemaker, enjoying cooking, yard work and being a grandmother. She was famous for her egg pies. Mrs. Jordan was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church since the early 1930's. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, J.L. Johnson, David Johnson and two sisters, Thelma Estelle and Ardelle Seach. Survivors include her husband of 79 years, Perry Jordan of Crossett, Ark.; Glenn Jordan (Alice) of Crossett, Ark., Don Jordan (Nona) of W. Monroe, La.; one daughter, Betty Rodgers (Bill) of Crossett, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Larry Jordan, David Jordan, Stephen Jordan, Damon Jordan, Lisa Peyton, Paige Grissom, Brooke Hogue, Derek Rodgers; 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bro. Eric Hodge and Bro. David Tohlen officiating. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark. (www.jonesservice.com).
