Thurman Gray Holder

Thurman Gray Holder, (94 years), of Seal Beach, California, died on Thursday, February 21, 2013, in Long Beach, California, of cancer. Thurman was born to Don Montreville Holder and Nannie Ira (Berry) on September 16, 1918, in North Little Rock (Argenta), Arkansas. In 1940, he joined the Army Air Corps 72nd Air Sqdn; 52nd Air Group (China-Burma-India). Stella May (Holden) became his bride on October 4, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri. Between 1943-1956, Thurman and Stella had four children. In 1957, Long Beach, Calif., became home. Thurman is survived by son, Thurman Gray Holder II (Janet Molina) of Bend, Oregon, daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Holder-Hayes (William "Bill") of Seal Beach, son, Terry Gray Holder of Seal Beach, daughter, Vera Margaret Holder-Kuyumjian (Garo "Charlie") of Corona, California; grandchildren, Kenneth Gray Hayes, Thurman Gray Holder III (Stacy), Angelene Hayes, and Matthew Gray Holder (Gabriela). Thurman had one great-grandson, Taylor Gray Holder. Also surviving are one brother, Ira Brooks Holder (Jacqueline) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceasing Thurman was his wife of 46 years, Stella, son Baby Boy Holder, great-grandson, Liam Gray Holder, sisters, Vera Helen and Margaret Frances and brothers, Wilmer Eugene and Don Mack.
