Charles Wayne Allen

Charles Wayne Allen, 65, of the Fairplay Community near Benton, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Charlie was born in Malvern, Ark. to Clarence and Geneva Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Joy Hockersmith Allen; sons, Rodney Allen of Little Rock, Jason Allen and wife Shanna of Maumelle, and Justin Allen and wife Brittany of Benton; brother, Gerald Allen and wife Lucy of Hot Springs Village; sisters, Yvonne Allen of Pittsburg, Texas, Rebecca Dowdell of Dallas, Lita Jendrysik and husband Rick of Ft. Meyers, Fla., Teresa Allen and husband George Spinka of San Diego, California and Roberta McCarthy and husband John of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; grandchildren, Bailey, Brody, Brantly, Laney, Carson and Connor Allen; great-grandson, Logan Thompson; one niece and two nephews. Charlie worked for Rock Island Railroad and then spent the next 30 years as a freight broker in the trucking industry. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, March 18 at Ashby Funeral Home.
