Irene B. Bauer

Irene B. Bauer, age 94, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at her home in Hot Springs. She was born on February 7, 1919, in Gillett, Ark. to her parents, Andrew Parker and Alta Branham Parker. Irene, the third of six children, was raised in Gillett and graduated from Gillett High School. She married August George (Gus) Bauer, Sr. and they had six children. She was a resident of Hot Springs for 52 years. Irene was a member of First Lutheran Church in Hot Springs. Irene had many diverse interests throughout her life. She enjoyed hunting and fishing, traveling, and going to the horse races. She loved Razorback sports, gardening, cooking, shopping, and entertaining friends. Irene will be remembered by her loving children, Kay Studenberg and husband Pip of Hot Springs, Dianne House and husband Steve of Hot Springs, Marcia Bauer of Hot Springs Village, A.G. Bauer Jr. and wife Barbra of Little Rock, Tom Bauer of Hot Springs and Tim Bauer of Perryville. She is also survived by one brother, Sam Parker, one sister, Virginia Lehman; grandchildren, Eric Manzer, Kyle Manzer, Kelly Bailey, Tyler House, Shelley Mitchell, Jamie Morell, John Paul Morell, and Jason Morell; great-grandchildren: Lakyn, Beau, and Luke Bailey, John Michael Manzer, Annaliese, Sophia, and Jude Morell, Joel Morell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Bud and Homer Parker; sister, Ernestine Parker; and one grandson, Shane House. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, from 5 -7 p.m. at Gross Funeral Home. Funeral services for Irene will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at First Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Gillett Cemetery in Gillett, Arkansas.
