Mr. Kenneth L. Leigh, Sr., 75, of Hamburg died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Leigh was a native of Crossett and a resident of Hamburg for most of his life. He retired from the Arkansas National Guard after 21 years of service and he worked for the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill for 45 years, having retired in 2000. He was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Barnett Leigh in 1957; his parents, Alpheus & Addine Swan Leigh and a step-brother, A.J. Leigh. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beth Barnett Leigh; a son, Kenneth Leigh Jr. and wife, Wanda, all of Hamburg; a daughter, Anita Carle and husband, Leonard, of Hope; a sister, Christine Riley of Hamburg; two brothers, Johnnie Leigh of Hamburg and Danny Leigh of Conway; three grandchildren, Kennton Leigh of Jonesboro, Matthew Leigh of Monticello and Wayne Smith and wife, Emily, of Roanoke, Texas. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Meredith and Rev. Michael Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Unity Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 400 Washington Street, Hamburg, Ark, 71646.
