GEORGE WILLIAM HANKINS, 81, went to heaven to hold hands with his loving wife, Nell, March 22, 2013. He was born Aug. 14, 1931, and lived in North Little Rock and Sherwood most of his life. He was a very devoted Christian that loved and witnessed for Christ and Faith Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, music leader and a founding member. Loving and giving to his family was expressed everyday. He was dedicated to guiding and raising three generations of his family. He was also a successful businessman, whose ventures included Dean's Milk Company, Mrs. Weaver's Salads and his own company, George Hankins Distributing Company. Preceding him to heaven was his loving bride of 54 years, Nell Nichols Hankins in 2006. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Pam Chism (John) of Cabot, Ark., Patty Houston (Danny) of Prattville, Ala.; two grandsons, Jason Cox (Brandy), and Jeremy Cox (Sarah); five great-grandchildren, Haley, Hannah, Fuzzy, Gabby, and Shelbi; and one great-great-granddaughter, Kyleigh. Please come and help us celebrate this man's wonderful life. Visitation is at 1 p.m. and the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Services will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 109 Tanglewood Drive, North Little Rock, Ark. Brother Freddie Holmes will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Dennis Campbell, Kirk McCormick, John Sears, Blake Scobey, Jason Cox and Jeremy Cox. Honorary pallbearers are his beloved Sunday School class lead by Gayle Holmes. We will miss you Daddy. Thank you for being who you were, and who you raised us to be, your loving daughters, Pam and Patty. The righteous man walks in this integrity. His children are blessed after him. Proverbs 20:7. Funeral arrangement will be conducted by Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home.
