Erma Alene Izell Adkins

Erma Alene Izell Adkins died March 25, 2013. She was born March 5, 1927, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Francis Adkins, parents, Ermond Allen and Eva Harwell Izell, a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Joe Joyner, and a niece, Mary Kathryn Joyner. She is survived by a sister, Mary Frances Izell Hodges; niece Elaine Hodges; nephew John Joyner; and great-niece Ava Joyner all of Little Rock, and nephew Clark Hodges of Washington, D.C. Alene graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a degree in Journalism. She worked for over 20 years for General Motors Acceptance Corporation and was active in their retirement group. She is a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the local Eagle's Club. Following retirement Alene traveled extensively within the United States. Alene always loved bowling, fishing, baseball and was a great Razorback football fan. The family wishes to thank Central Arkansas Hospice Care for their kindness and concern during Alene's final days. The memorial service will be at Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock at one o'clock on Friday, March 29, 2013. Following the service there will be a reception in the church's narthex. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas, (501) 224-8300.
