Billy Ray Briggs Sr., a man of many names: Babber, Booger, Dad, Sir, and Papaw, went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 28, 2013. He was born in Davidson, Okla. to Hubert Raymond Briggs and Loreta Lee Ground-Briggs on Dec. 6, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wilburn Murrel Briggs, and beloved wife of 56 years, Juanda Jeanne Dean-Briggs. He is survived by 4 children, Billy and (Risa) Briggs of North Little Rock; Susan and (Les) Owens of Bigelow; Cheryl Briggs of Jacksonville; and Scott and (Tabbitha) Briggs of Hot Springs. 10 grandchildren, Michelle and (David) Buie of Bigelow; Christopher Owens of Little Rock; Tiffany and (Stephen) Wilson of Tulsa, Okla.; Rachel and (Josh) Cecil of North Little Rock; Brad Briggs of North Little Rock; Rebekah Briggs of North Little Rock; Billy Ray (Trey) Briggs III of North Little Rock; Hannah Owens of Bigelow; Tyler Briggs of Hot Springs; and Bryce Briggs of Hot Springs. Six great-grandchildren, Olivia Buie of Bigelow; Chloe Buie of Bigelow; Connor Wilson of Tulsa, Okla.; Parker Wilson of Tulsa, Okla.; Reed Cecil of North Little Rock; and Rhett Cecil of North Little Rock. He served briefly in the Army Air Corp before founding United Fence Company in 1953 and retired after 46 years, leaving it to the next generation. He was an avid golfer, influential teacher to many, and a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man of integrity, a rare quality today, helping many people in time of need and will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lake Hamilton Health and Rehab. Graveside service will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Benton at 11 a.m. Visitation will be Tuesday April 2, 2013 at North Little Rock Funeral Home located at 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock from 6 to 8 PM.
