Born July 11, 1922 in Stuttgart, Ark., she was the oldest of Mamie and Fred Mertin‘s four children, Lucille, brothers, Howard, Fred and sister Wilma. Lucille married Eugene Waddell Kinley in 1940 and were blessed with three children, Betty, Donna and Gene Jr. After her husband's death in 1953, Lucille and her children eventually relocated in England, Ark. where she married Cecil V. Her warm managerial style endeared her to patients and staff alike thereby receiving many awards and recognitions of achievement and meritorious service. As fate would have it, several years after retirement, Lucille suffered a severe stroke in 2006. While physically disabled, she was a model for survival and perseverance as she kept her sharp mind, wit and interest in current events intact.
