Houston Bailey Ferguson

Houston Bailey Ferguson, age 89, of Perryville, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013. He was born July 12, 1923, in Des Arc, Arkansas, a son of Sherman Ferguson and Ola Patterson Ferguson. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, having served in the South Pacific, and a member of First Baptist Church Perryville. He retired after 39 years from Southwestern Bell in Forrest City, Arkansas, and loved to hunt, fish, and tend to his garden. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Bessie Sisk Ferguson of Perryville; son, Danny (Donna) Ferguson of Little Rock, Ark.; daughter, Malissa (Ken) Gazaway of Henderson, Ky.; four brothers, Bill Ferguson of Des Arc, Ark., Donald (Lvonne) Ferguson of Meadow Bridge, W.Va., Ralph (Susan) Ferguson of El Paso, Ark.; and Raymond Ferguson of Hazen, Ark.; three grandchildren, Ethan Gazaway, Emma Gazaway, and Kelsey Ferguson. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Ferguson. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at the Perryville First Baptist Church with burial at Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Perryville.
