James E. "Jimmy" Green, Jr., 91, of Heber Springs, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Friday, May 10, 2013 in Little Rock. He was born January 24, 1922 in Pine Bluff, son of James E. and Lena O'Connell Green. Mr. Green was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Betty Ann Russell in Macon, Ga. in 1943. Mrs. Green died in 2004. Mr. Green worked for Fox Brothers Hardware Company for 43 years, retiring in 1986 as Chairman of the Board. He was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, where he served on the Administrative Board and the Finance Committee. Mr. Green served as a board member of the Greater Pine Bluff Chamber of Commerce, Salvation Army and the United Way of Southeast Arkansas. He was past president of Pine Bluff Country Club and Teen Town. Mr. Green was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two sons, Russ Green (Susan) of Heber Springs and John Green (Mary) of Maumelle; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
