Bobby Gene Hoffman, 80, of Ward died Sunday, May 12, 2013. He was born October 17, 1932 in Caraway to the late Paul B. and Una Wright Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman was an active member of the Cabot Church of Christ for 45 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict and retired from AFCO Steel in 2000. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed fishing and gardening and was well known for his tomatoes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hoffman was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wilma Poe Hoffman; his son Bobby Lynn Hoffman and his wife, Tommie, of Austin; his grandsons, Jonathan Hoffman of Beebe and Christopher Hoffman of Cabot and his siblings, Myrtle Brewer of Caraway, Mable Hopper of Davenport, Iowa, David Hoffman of Topeka, Kansas, Martha Jones of Cabot, Paul Hoffman of Senatobia, Mississippi and Frances Pierce of Moline, Illinois. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Cabot Church of Christ with Brothers Chuck Ball and Charlie Coombs officiating. Burial will follow at Old Austin Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
