Virginia Rogers

VIRGINIA LEE (GAINES) ROGERS of North Little Rock was born June 22, 1920, in Griffithville, Ark. to F.S. and Carolee (Sego) Gaines and passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband, V.W. Rogers; her son, R.F. "Buddy" Rogers; and son-in-law, Don Trickey; one sister, Frances Carroll; and one brother, Raymond Gaines. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ginger Smith (Bill) of Hattiesburg, Miss., Steve Rogers (Margie) of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Vivian Trickey Smith (Alan) of Conway, Ark. Other survivors include her sister Marion O'Donell of Beebe, Ark. as well as 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She graduated from Griffithville High School where she was valedictorian and attended Arkansas State University at Beebe. Mrs. Rogers was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock where she served as past President of the U.M.W. "The Faith In Action" Circle and Ambassador Sunday School Class. She was devoted to her family and was affectingly known as MomaLee; she never missed attending graduations, dance recitals or any activities for her grandchildren. She was a loving wife whose greatest joy was spending time with her husband. They were avid bowlers and enjoyed attending Razorback football games. She also enjoyed playing dominoes, scrabble and bridge, having developed special friendships with her bridge club friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Arkansas Hospice for their loving care to Mrs. Rogers.
