Edsel "Ed" Voyles

Edsel "Ed" Voyles, 88, of Conway, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013. He was born July 18, 1924 in Enola to the late Warren and Ruby Voyles. He attended Conway High School and Arkansas State Teacher's College (UCA). Ed and his father owned Voyles & Son Auto Machine Co. in Conway for over 50 years. A member of Pickles Gap Baptist Church, Gideons International and Faulkner County Historical Society, he also helped organize the CPCUG (Conway PC Users Group) and the Conway Parkinson's Disease Support Group. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Willa Voyles; his children, Kay Voyles of Mountain View, Arkansas, Bill Voyles and wife Sheila of Conway, Mark Voyles of Conway, and Kelly Dearing and husband Rick of Plainview, Arkansas; grandchildren, Billy Voyles, Jr. and wife Brenna of Conway, Shana Peterson of Nashville, Tennessee, and Charles Dearing of Plainview; and great-grandchildren, D.J. Voyles, Alaina Peterson and Grant Peterson. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home on Dave Ward Drive. Funeral services will be Thursday at noon at the funeral home with interment following at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Pickles Gap Baptist Church or Gideons International.
