Lester Charles Jones

Lester Charles Jones, formerly of Little Rock, Ark. transitioned May 11, 2013 in San Francisco, CA VA Hospital. He graduated from Hall High School in 1966, and served in the United States Army with a tour in Vietnam. Charles worked as an actor for 30 years, traveling with various theater companies around the United States and abroad to many foreign countries. After retiring from an awarding career in the theater, he became self-employed using the culinary skills and work ethics his mother had taught him during his adolescent years, until his failing health. He leaves to cherish his memories in Little Rock, Ark. daughter, Carolyn Jones; mother, Evelyn Coleman; brothers Matthew Norwood Jr. and David Coleman of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Rev. Tracey Turner and aunt Maggie Cunningham both of Little Rock, Ark. To honor Charles' last wishes cremation will take place Thursday, May 16, 2013 and a memorial held at the African American Art & Culture Complex, in San Francisco, Calif., Tuesday, July 16, 2013.
