Mary Jeanette Smith, 93, was born to Henry Payne and Margaret Gerbert Batts on January 8, 1920 in La Grange, Georgia and passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in Searcy, Arkansas. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of St. James Catholic Church in Searcy, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Jess Smith, her twin sister, Geneva Pratt, and a brother Robert Batts. She is survived by a daughter, Angela Joyner (Gerald) Searcy, two sons, Rodney Smith (Sandra) of Little Rock, Willard Smith (Carolyn) of North Little Rock, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, sister, Bennie Buch (Ken) of Hot Springs Village, brother, William Batts, of Bryant, brother, Francis Batts (Frances) of Searcy, sister, Elizabeth Wofford, of Sherwood, sister, Ronnie Adams (Charlie) of Hot Springs, other relatives and friends. Visitation from 5-6:30 PM Thursday, May 16, 2013 with Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy.
