On May 20th, James S. Lamb of Mabelvale died unexpectedly at his home. Born in 1946 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, to Jimmie Lamb and Lora Weatherly, James graduated from high school in Clarendon and joined the US Army. While serving his country valiantly in the Vietnam War, James was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for heroism during intense hostile fire while administering first aid to the wounded. James worked for 38 years for Central Arkansas Water and made many friends during his career. During his free time, James enjoyed the outdoors and playing golf. James is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Lamb of Mabelvale; his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Leslie Lamb of Rogers; his mother, Lora Weatherly of Roe and three sisters, Ginger, Wanda, and Regina. A service to celebrate a life well-lived is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W. 12th St. Little Rock (501) 661-9111. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at the funeral home.
