Obed Ray

Obed Jackson Ray, 86, of Sherwood passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013. He served in the United States Navy during Korean War and was a member of Smokey Lane Apostolic Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vivian Roper Ray; two daughters, Shareta Peoples (Randy), Angela Humphries (Gary); son, Bert Garcia (Cindy); seven grandchildren, Austin, James, Sheila, Vicki, Ronnie, Sara and Phillip; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Norman, Marvin and Fred Ray. He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. and Docile Ray; and his sister, Lenita Fay Brothers. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Smokey Lane Apostolic Church. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, a Smith Family Funeral Home.
