HELEN P. SHULTS-WORTHY, 70, of Sherwood passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Flaydelle Floyd-Shults and Grady Shults, both of Texas. She was born in Gilmer, Texas on Nov. 20, 1942. Helen was a career federal employee retiring from the Social Security Administration Office of Disability and Review in 2008. Her career included employment in Longview, Bryan and Mount Pleasant, Texas as well as Lawton, Okla., and Little Rock, Ark. Helen, as a member of North Little Rock's First United Methodist Church, had been a teacher for the Open Door Class and active in various volunteer agencies assisting those in need. Helen had also been active in her son's scout, baseball and school programs in Forrest City and Sherwood, Ark. She was also an avid fan of her grandson's baseball teams at Sylvan Hills. Survivors include sons, Mike and Steve, and the absolute light of her life, grandson Aidan along with many friends. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church 6701 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 or Susan G. Komen Foundation, 904 Autumn Road, Little Rock, Ark. 72211. A very casual celebration of Helen's life will be held 7 p.m., Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at the church.
