Betty M. White

Betty M. White, 78, of Hot Springs, formerly of Warren, went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2013. She was born on May 14, 1935, in the community of Herbine, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Austin and Lucy Hyatt Thornton. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Maydene Ashcraft and two brothers, Calvin and Floyd Thorton. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Robert J. White Sr.; two sons, Robert J. White, Jr. (Phyllis) of Lawton, OK and Ron White (Glenda) of Hot Springs; two daughters, Regina Anderson of Colorado Springs, CO and Bettina Crumpton (David) of Mt. Pine, Ark.; six grandchildren, Brandon White of Leesville, LA, Megan Kuhn (David) of Olympia, Wash., Josh Anderson (Megan) of Gressier, Hati, James White, Chris Reddin (Desha) and Mychal Crumpton (Kim) of Hot Springs, Ark.; six great-grandchildren, Joseph, Tatum, Lexi, Hayden and Nona Rose and one brother, Joe Thorton (Bobbie of Pine Bluff, Ark. Betty was an active member of Hot Springs Baptist Church. Her service to the Lord included "Grannies on the Go for Christ", a division of "Nailbenders for Christ"; "All Because of Christ Ministries" where she worked in the printing shop, distributed tracts and traveled into Mexico. At home she was a faithful witness, distributing "The Daily Bread" and the New Testament everywhere she went. She also performed volunteer work at St. Joseph Hospital in Hot Springs. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31 from 11:30-1 p.m. at Hot Springs Baptist Church. Services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gerald Taylor and Rev. Manley Beasley officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens, 2868 Airport Rd, Hot Springs, Ark. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Celebrate Recovery (CR) or Recovery Point Ministry (RPM) at Hot Springs, Baptist Church, 144 Weston Rd., Hot Springs, Ark. 71913.
