Claudie Marie Edgar

Claudie (Marie) Edgar, age 86, of Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. She was born February 6, 1927 to parents, Marvin and Maudie Lee Goodwin in Fountain Hill, Arkansas. Marie had five younger siblings, Hank Goodwin, Anne Artmann, Robby Glenn Goodwin, Jane Hogue and Dale Goodwin. She was married for 61 years to the love of her life, CJ (Cliff) Edgar on December 28, 1940. Marie retired from Phillips Lighting Company. She was a member of Forest Tower Baptist Church in Hensley, Arkansas. Best of all, she loved. She loved to fish. She loved to volunteer at the food bank at her church, where she was affectionately known as "The Hugging Lady". She loved her friends. She loved her church. And she deeply loved her family. Marie is survived by daughter, Pat (Jack) Kindy Crowell of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and son, Vince (Tish) Edgar of aSherwood, Arkansas; grandchildren, Debbye (Dub) Hedrick, Vicki Buchannan and Larry (Lori) Kindy, Mike (Cindy) Edgar and Mark Edgar; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and siblings, Hank Goodwin, Anne Artmann and Jane Hogue. Marie was predeceased by her husband, CJ (Cliff) Edgar; grandchildren, Michelle Edgar Huett and Katina Edgar and siblings, Robby Glenn Goodwin and Dale Goodwin. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Forest Tower Baptist Church in Hensley, Arkansas with Brother Ricky Tipton and Brother Lary Tidball officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow at Salem Cemetery in the East End Community.
