Gladys Walker

Gladys Walker, age 88 of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in Little Rock. She was born August 25, 1925 at Marvel, Alabama to Alonzo "Zeb" Collins and Alpha Pearl Thomason Collins. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Yarnell's Ice Cream and was a member of Searcy First United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Mike Walker and wife Sandy of Cabot; one daughter, Susan Swagerty and husband Keith of North Little Rock; two sisters, Lynn Lawley of Destin, Florida, Betty Lindsay of Marietta, Georgia; one brother, Jim Collins of Alabaster, Alabama; five grandchildren, Stephen Swagerty, Elizabeth Swagerty, Anna Grace Swagerty, Heath Harkins, Lynnae Adkins; and four great-grandchildren, Kearstyn Harkins, Cade Hart, Alyssa Adkins, and Autumn Adkins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Zeb and Pearl Collins; husband, Arwood Walker, two sisters; and two brothers. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 until 4 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The family has requested memorials be made to Cumberland Presbyterian Church in memory of Arwood and Gladys Walker.
