Carolyn Carroll Howell, 79, of Bella Vista, formerly of Pine Bluff, passed away at home on November 4, 2013. Born in West Helena on Oct. 16, 1934, Carolyn graduated from Elaine High School. She attended Southern State College in Magnolia before receiving her B.S. Degree from the University of Houston. She and her husband, Thomas O. Howell, married April 15, 1954. Carolyn taught school in Texas, Maryland and Pine Bluff, Arkansas, until her retirement. Carolyn had a vivacious personality and many friends. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Tom, a son David Howell, and wife, Beverly, of Conway, a daughter, Judy Howell Adair, and husband, Randy Adair, of Joplin, Missouri, and four grandchildren, Rebecca Adair Sanders, Margaret Adair, Scott Howell and Andrea Howell. She is also survived by a sister, Rachael Rogers, of Marvell, Arkansas, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Willie Carroll, two brothers, Thomas Carroll and William Carroll, and one sister, Virgie Henderson. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, November 7th at Bella Vista Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Dave Brown. Interment will follow at Bella Vista Cemetery.
