Charles J. Parker, Jr., age 86, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013. He was born November 19, 1926, at Little Rock, the son of Charles John Parker and Lilly Mae Reed Parker. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma O'Kelley Parker; his second wife, Mildred Doyle Parker; and two sisters, Nina M. Brown and L. Christine Richards. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a graduate of Oklahoma University and worked as a Petroleum Engineer. He was Christian in his faith. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Philip C. and Karen Parker of Hot Springs and Bob and Carrie Rominger of Ingram, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Dave Lincoln of Forth Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Kelly Hart of Hot Springs and Joseph Lincoln of Fort Worth, Texas; one great-grandchild, Kortney Parker; one niece, Christine Kyse of Wyckoff, New Jersey; several extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Services with military honors will be held Friday, in the Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock with John Herring officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Charles J. Parker Jr. to the charity of your choice.
