Jack Haynes

Jack Haynes, 89, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013. He was born to Adam Haynes and Bertha (Langston) Haynes in Houston, La. on Jan. 16, 1924. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired after 27 years of military service. He served during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam earning several decorations and a Meritorious Service Medals. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W., the Elks Lodge and Optimist Club. He is survived by his brother, Ben Haynes of New Braunfels and sister, Jean Schaffer of New Braunfels. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine; brother, William Haynes; and sister, Ruth. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Smith-Morgan Cemetery in New Edinburg, Ark.
