Virgil C. Shelton Sr.

Rev. VIRGIL C. SHELTON SR., 62, Little Rock, departed this life Nov. 6, 2013. Rev. Shelton was a faithful and dedicated servant of God. He began his pastoral career in 1968 at Pleasant Ridge M.B.C., North Little Rock. Rev. Shelton went on to pastor at New Light M.B.C., North Little Rock, Greater Mt. Zion M.B.C., Malvern, Morning Star M.B.C., Newport, Welfare M.B.C., Ashville, NC., Macedonia M.B.C., Little Rock and Mount Zion M.B.C., Pettus, Ark. Rev. Shelton was also a radio announcer with KALO, KOKY, KWCK-KSER, KWTD, KLRG and KITA. He leaves to cherish his memory: children, Marion (Donald) Bone, Virgil Shelton Jr., Jason Shelton, Rashad Walker, Brittney Shelton, Mario Hood, Canita Hood; sister, Glenda Greene; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special friend, Kim Young; other relatives and friends. Visitation: 12-6 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Mortuary, North Little Rock. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at New Zion Grove Baptist Church, McAlmont, Pastor Stephen T. Robinson, Eulogist.
