George David "Coach Dave" Williams

George David "Coach Dave" Williams, 70, went to be with the Lord November, 12 2013 at the Flo and Phil Jones House in Jonesboro, Ark. Dave was born to the late George and Leona Williams on January 2, 1943 in Fort Smith, Ark. Dave is survived by his wife Utanah Williams of the home, daughter's Kimberly and Jay Pankey of Ft. Smith, Ark.,and Kristen and Josh Jordan of Paragould, Ark., son Jeff and Leslie Williams of Ft. Smith, Ark., Granddaughters, Coley Jayee Pankey, Mary Elizabeth Williams and Anna Catherine Williams, of Ft. Smith, Ark. Meridith Claire Jordan of Paragould, Ark. Grandsons, Clayton Scott Pankey, and Bailey Ryan Pankey of Ft. Smith, Ark., Bryson William Jordan and Braxton David Jordan of Paragould, Ark. Dave coached a total of 46 years starting in Blytheville, Ark. in 1968. He later went to Charleston, S.C., Searcy, Ark. And Carlisle, Ark. Coach Dave finished strong with 33 years at Pocahontas, Ark. as the head coach with over 200 wins. His love of coaching reflected his love for students. Coach Dave's impact is felt through generations of students who wore the Redskins jersey. He was a loving provider and protector of his wife of 49 years as well as his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Funeral service will be Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Black River Technical College at 2 p.m. with Eric Moffett, Alonza Jiles, and Josh Jordan officiating. Graveside service will be Monday November 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, Ark. Funeral arrangements are being handled by McNabb Fuenral Home. In lieu of Flowers the family request you leave a lasting memorial to the 1st. Baptist Church or the Pocahontas Athletic Department.
